Shattered Worlds: War Torn - A History

The following is an account of the history of Sirius (Shatterd Worlds War Torn) up untill the present day. The first section, A Long Story Short, is the history in brief. The second section, A History, is the full account including original archived documents.

A Long Story Short

Pre-805 AS to late 805 AS:
Storyline of the Shattered Worlds Mod: The Backstory

In late 805 AS, Outcasts flex their muscles in the ‘northern’ part of Sirius and the houses continue to eye each other with an air of future confrontation as their plans and populations grow.

806 AS:

This year sees the death early on of Kusari’s Emperor and the search for a successor and also the death of the King in Bretonia. Later in the year Sophia von Bismarck ascends to the throne of the Rheinland monarchy.
The flexing of Outcast muscles becomes an occupation of Freeport 10 as the Outcasts launch a new campaign which also puts pressure on the sigma systems. As the campaign continues the Outcasts capture the Gas Miner Ogashawa and start looking for another operator to end the Hfuel monopoly, the occupation is short lived however and, having lost the momentum, the Outcasts bring their campaign to a halt and begin making more plans for the future.
In Rheinland tensions flare with Liberty for a while and some minor engagements occur over treaty violations and arrests of citizens leaving the two houses distrustful. Rheinland cracks down on Hessians by restricting trade inside the house which forces the Hessians to look elsewhere for supplies resulting in far reaching attacks.
The Mollys in Dublin grow in numbers triggering a severe response from Bretonian authorities which pushes the Mollys back into their mine field. Later the Bretonia Armed Forces begin a battleship construction project called ‘Codename Victory’ which leads to increased trade across the Bretonia/Kusari border as the year progresses.
Kusari, responding to a possible Order threat, restricts trade across its border which leads to the beginning of hostilities with Bretonia when Bretonian ships are threatened.
The war between Kusari and Bretonia begins and over the last few months of 806 Liberty backs its ally Bretonia and Rheinland supports Kusari. Bretonia’s initial attacks into Kyushu prove promising for them.

807 AS:

The war rages on as 807 begins. Kusari begin to gain the upper hand on the front with Liberty, Ames Research Station taking most of the action, and the borders of Rheinland remain mostly quiet seeing mainly skirmishes as Rheinland forces are sent to assist Kusari. The Blood Dragons watching this from a distance see their chance and form an alliance with the Outcasts, all past differences over cardimine dropped, and together the two organisations perform a blitzkrieg campaign in Kyushu and northern Kusari.
As the Outcasts advance Kusari is at a loss to defend itself and eventually pulls out of the war with Bretonia and Liberty in order to focus its defence elsewhere. The other houses are mostly shocked into inaction by the ferocity of the Outcast’s moves. The Outcasts take the opportunity to make a push into Corsair space where the still young Reformist government has trouble holding them at bay.
The Kusari government begins to destabilise and when the emperor is assassinated the house falls into complete disarray leaving only locals and disorganised military personal to hold back a slaughter by the invading pirates. Eventually New Tokyo falls to the Outcasts and they place a Blood Dragon Emperor in power and Kusari is subdued.
The Blood Dragon Emperor closes Kusari’s borders and Liberty and Rheinland respond and close their borders to Kusari traffic. The situation quickly escalates culminating in a skirmish in Rheinland. Attempts by the Empire to re-establish trade are met with distrust from then on.
There is then a coup on New Tokyo by rebels who want to free Kusari from the Outcasts and the Blood Emperor is killed but his heir is secreted away by loyal guards. In the aftermath the Outcasts begin an already prepared ‘cardiforming’ process on planets Kyushu and Honshu in retribution. The locals on the planets are expected to die from drug overdose however on Kyushu they instead die as a result of a debilitating sexual reaction. Those on Honshu, by fighting back against the Outcasts for a time, delay the cardiforming process but are mostly killed as resistance is quashed.
The rebels on New Tokyo are put down and the heir to the Blood Emperor is announced as ruler.
In response to events in Kusari the SDN (Strategic Defence Network) is formed by the three other houses in order to defend themselves and return Kusari to a stable and lawful state.

It is currently mid 807 AS:
The houses are positioned to intervene in the violation of Kusari by the Outcasts and a red dawn is on the horizon.

  1. Such an incredible setting for a drama! Almost like history re-invented or even paid forward! Very creative!
